Get your pets vaccinated at the vets.

It turned out that the pups have Parvo. I vaccinated them by mail order but my vet said that sometimes the vaccine is not good because of handling. Pay the extra money for the vet visit, It will cost you more in heartache and vet bills if you don't. Kelly is being treated and has a 50/50 chance. The others are showing some signs of parvo so I re-vaccinated them as a last ditch effort. If you vaccinated your dogs yourself, please take them in for a booster. This is one of the hardest things to cure and your pet is woth the extra money.

Woods Creek up date.

Fathers day weekend. Saturday, We are getting some nice little flakes the last few weeks. A group pulled out a $30.00 piece of crystaline specimen gold with a little quartz matrix. Not a big piece but it was pretty. The water is still running nice and with the temps in the 90 and to reach 100 this week I think we will be digging directly in the creek instead of the flood plain. Rattle snakes should be poking their heads out all over
California so be carefull when you are out there and bring lots of water.

A great rainy day

Interesting day today, I have not been out mining much due to the freeezing temps in the morning but I may have found a new claim. I need to speak with BLM to make sure it is open to mineral extraction and then we will have another place to go when the water in woods creek and moccasin creek are to high. This place is very easy to get to but dries up in the summer.

I had a customer call a few days ago to book a tour, they showed up in the pouring rain today and informed me that they were filming for a Ukrainina travel segment. It was great for them to be out in the elements because they got to see first had what we as miners have to contend with during the rainy season. The segment should be ready in a few months and they will send a link. I will post it then for all of you who wonder if mining in the rain is any fun. It is, unless you have to do it every day then it is only fun until you get soaked and cold.

Christmas Day

Christmas Day.

Merry Christmas to all of you. Went to Moccasin Creek to look at an area that has not been claimed. Walked about 1/2 mile through brush and finally got to the spot. Looks like part of a tertiary channel that may dip to about 20 feet or so. Sampling reviled some small particles of gold and a few flakes so I have to go to the county and research the property lines and file the claim.

Have another meeting with the forestry service about the claim at Brandy City. They have refused both plans of action and the Forester will not set up a meeting with me so I have to go back to the mineralogist and then they have to go thrum her.

Claim jumpers

Weather is still warm the last few days, 90's. Still waiting on the Forestry service for approval on my plan of action for the Brandy City claim. Of course it will come when the weather starts to turn bad up there. Working the Moccasin claim a little, hit and miss flakes and dust. Will be testing a few places on the Woods Creek claim. One of the tailing piles had been claim jumped and the word is they pulled over 5 ounces in gold from it. We have reposted the no tresspassing signs but they are still sneaking in at night. Would have been nice to have work that pile this winter. Just like days of old there are still claim jumpers out there. The Moccasin claim shows signs of a few claim jumbers using power equipment, Brandy city shows a few signs but they have to work lots of material to get the gold, guess i need to watch all the claims more closely now that gold is spiking in price again. Have a great day.

update

Rain, rain, rain, finaly we are getting some much needed rain. The lightning was spectacular last night. Ugly dog of course had to bark at the thunder all night but that was a small price to pay for the rain. Meeting with the forestry service on Monday about our claim in Northern CA. Tuesday going to check on a few mines, they were closed around the time of the war and have not been explored since. This should be exciting.
