Busy week, Lots of people still looking to gold pan. The price of gold has dropped a little but is still over $1,600.00 The long term outlook on the economy does not look so promising so I think I will keep mining. There is a little bit of water at the Peoria Flat claim and I should be working that with the trommel by mid week if all goes well. I pulled out 1/2 gram in about 2 hours on Friday working the old tailings. I think I will make a little video when I start there. Still pulling a little gold from Woods creek. Last week we had a miner pull out  a couple of grams from a small crack that we thought was already worked. Some days are better than others. No new laws from the state yet concerning mining. A ban on open carry pistols was placed on us so I guess we can only carry shot guns when we mine in the rugged back country. Crazy. I think I will tell the bears and mountain lions that because of the new ban the state of California does not think wild animals are a threat any more. I think they might listen while trying to eat my leg, you know, dinner conversation.  Puppies are well and getting bigger. The runt is feeling a little amorous and the others howl all night. Needless to say, she has been sleeping in the house. Rattle snakes are still out, pele found one the other day, it decided not to play and went it's own way. Hopefully the temps will be dropping soon and we won't have to worry about them anymore until next summer. Lots of claims for sale on e bay lately, some are in gold territory but a few that I had sampled were worked out by earlier miners, dredging is not legal so any river claim might not be worth buying, there is a 5 year moratorium on it. Sample the claim first if you can before you buy, if it is a "Rich Claim" why are they selling it? If I could pull an ounce a week out of a claim it would be worth paying the taxes and fees which are far less than $1,600.00. Research the direct area for sale, gold could have been found 1 mile away but that does not guarantee there is any in the area for sale.
