Jamestown Gold Panning - Learn to Pan For Gold in the Heart of the Mother Lode!

This is the place where it all started. In August of 1848, just 7 months after The Sutter Creek discovery, Mr. Woods came to this area now known as Woods Creek and discovered gold which brought thousands of prospectors from all over the world to the area in search of the elusive yellow metal. This is also the area where the real Grizzly Adams erected his saloon and fought bears. Woods Creek is known world wide as the richest creek in the motherlode. This is also the place where a 72 pound nugget was found.
